Bassenfell Trip 2013
Here is everyone on the church holiday to Bassenfell Manor having their annual photographic opportunity. You may recognise some of the faces.
Here we all are waiting to abseil down the wall of the Manor.
Here is Barry Davies bravely being the first volunteer. Remember the saying "its one small step for man, but one giant leap for Whitby Evangelical Church" (or something like that). As you can see, Sandy Green soon got the hang of it along with all the rest of the group.
John Woollin organised a walk one day up High Dodd which was near Bassenfell Manor. Here is the proof that some of the group managed to get to the top. From there you had panoramic views over Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite and you could even see the coast of Scotland in the distance.
On Wednesday we all went out for lunch at a place in Threlkeld which turned out to be a place that John could not pronounce. Fortunately, everybody else managed to find their way there for a lovely lunch.
The whole week was great and focused on some studies led by Glyn Williams. (see below)
The last view of the Lakes is shown below. If you want to join us next year, see John Woollin or Colin Bullamore.
